What is Pleo™?
Pleo is an autonomous robotic life form modeled on a one-week-old Camarasaurus dinosaur. Pleo is designed to mimic life which means Pleo thinks and acts independently, just like a real animal.
What do you mean by "life form"?
In general, a UGOBE™ Life Form looks, moves, and behaves in ways that trigger a "belief of life." Specifically, Pleo has organic body language, exhibits evolving emotions, is aware of his surroundings and has recognizable behaviors that change over time.
What is a Camarasaurus?
Camarasaurus (KAM-ah-rah-sawr-us) means "Chambered Lizard" (Greek kamara = chamber and sauros = lizard), referring to the holes in its vertebrae. Camarasaurus is the best-known sauropod found in North America and the most abundant of fossils from the Late Jurassic period. Camarasaurus also lived in Europe, where it survived into Early Cretaceous times. A complete, nearly perfect skeleton of a juvenile, 17 foot (5.2 meters) long, was found in Utah. Its head was short and box-like with nostrils set above the snout and in front of the eyes. The weight of its backbone was lightened by holes in its vertebrae. Its neck was shorter and thicker than most sauropods, and it possessed a short and somewhat flattened tail. The forelimbs and hind legs of Camarasaurus were about the same length.

What age is Pleo suitable for?
Pleo is rated E for Everyone and is designed for adults to tweens both male and female. As Pleo is a highly sophisticated product which evolves into an inquisitive animal that requires attention and care, Pleo is not suitable or intended for children under 8 years old.

No, Pleo will always remain the same size as when you first purchase him.
Does Pleo change?
Yes, Pleo progresses through three different Life Stages. When first awakened, Pleo is a hatchling. As you interact together, Pleo transitions through an infant stage to become a juvenile dinosaur. Then the fun really starts! The more time you spend interacting with and nurturing Pleo, the more unique your dinosaur will become.
What are Pleo's different life stages, and how long does each one last?
PLEO IS BORN
The initial birthing stage lasts 5 to 10 minutes depending on your interaction with Pleo. In this stage Pleo opens his eyes to both you and the world for the very fist time, and he starts to acclimate to his environment. In this stage of Pleo's development he is very slow, and his sensors are not very responsive. The more you pet and nurture Pleo in this stage the faster he will develop and emerge as a more confident Pleo. Pleo is done "hatching" when he is fully awake and stands up on all four feet.
HATCHLING STAGE
After Pleo is born, he is in his "Hatchling" life stage for the remainder of his first charge cycle (about forty-five minutes). As a Hatchling, Pleo's basic behavioral drives will start to kick-in. He'll ask to be fed, he'll start to walk and explore his environment, take short naps like a baby, and he'll start to exhibit a wider range of emotions. He will begin to experiment with new sounds he can make. This is a fun time, when Pleo is extra "talkative" as he learns to express himself and his feelings.
JUVENILE
Pleo must be charged fully a second time before beginning his next life stage - Juvenile. The Juvenile stage represents Pleo's entry into childhood where his full range of movement and behaviors will be exhibited, his capacity for new tricks will become apparent, and a unique and distinctive personality will start to emerge.
What can I do with Pleo?
Interact with Pleo the same way you do with any living animal. Pleo can see, hear, and feel. Pleo's personality changes over time based on life experience, so make sure you spend plenty of time interacting with Pleo.
Can I play with Pleo immediately after purchase?
No, you must first make sure that Pleo's battery is fully charged. Place the battery in the charger, attach the AC adaptor jack to the charger, and plug the AC adaptor into an electrical outlet. Let the battery charge for around four hours until the indicator light turns green. No, Pleo does not have a remote control. You can interact with Pleo but you cannot control his movements.

No, Pleo is ready to go once you have charged his battery.
Can Pleo talk?
Pleo makes animal sounds but Pleo does not say any words.
Will Pleo be able to hear?
Yes, Pleo will be able to hear a human voice when he is still and it is quiet.
Will Pleo be able to see?
Yes, Pleo will be able to track objects and color as well as detect edges, depending on the circumstances.
What is Pleo's skin made of?
Pleo's skin is made of a custom-formulated soft thermoplastic material.
What are some things Pleo cannot do?
Pleo cannot fly and Pleo cannot swim! Please ensure that you do not drop Pleo from a great height or drop him into water, as doing so will void the warranty. Pleo is for use only in dry, indoor locations.
How do I care for my Pleo?
Please heed all cautionary statements contained in the companion guide, including all electrical warnings and handling instructions. To clean Pleo, use only a damp cloth and a light hand. Do not use soap or any other cleaning agents. Please do not attempt to make any mechanical repairs yourself as this will automatically void the warranty.
Can I paint my Pleo?
No, please do not paint your Pleo, as thinner that paint contains might adversely affect the skin material. We do, however, encourage you to accessorize your Pleo to match his unique personality.
